Building Sustainable Partnerships » BSP Forum

TRANSFORMING VISION INTO ACTION Building Sustainable Partnerships began with a forum event on February 6th, 2009 as a partnership between the University of Nebraska School of Natural Resources and the Mayor’s Environmental Task Force. The collaboration expanded to include the Nebraska Rural Initiative and the Cleaner Greener Lincoln Initiative out of the Mayor’s Office for the October 30th event.

The intent of the second forum was to focus on the needed collaborations and partnerships between communities, businesses, and higher education in the effort to move towards sustainability. By the end of forum, ideas for action plans were generated that Lincoln’s businesses, higher education institutions, and overall community can champion. The partners plan to use these action plans and forum discussions to provoke wide-spread community engagement and empower the city to move sustainably forward in 2010 and beyond.

Plans are being made for the next activities regarding the Building Sustainable Partnerships work. The electronic evaluation form provided an additional list of volunteers for various future activities. A full participant list from the actual forum will also help in indentifying future action teams.
